Brocade 1860 Fabric Adapter Details

The 1860 Fabric Adapter is a single unit that combines a network interface card (NIC), a fibre channel HBA, and a converged network adapter (CAN).

Supporting Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and 10 Gb Ethernet protocols, this fabric adapter lets users choose what protocol they would like to use on a port-by-port basis.

Following the latest upgrades in fibre channel technology, the 1860 Fabric Adapter supports 16 Gbps Fibre Channel, but is also backwards compatible to support 2 Gbps - 8 Gbps Fibre Channel. Because of the backward compatibility of the adapter, users won’t be forced to upgrade immediately and can gradually transition to 16 Gbps Fibre Channel technology.

According to Brocade, the adapter can support more than 500,000 IOPS per port and more than 1 million IOPS per card.
