Did the manufacturer just tell you that your used EMCDellNetAppCisco or Brocade product is going End of Service Life (EoSL)? Or do you happen to have a Dell-branded EMC array that Dell no longer supports, for example?

Did you know you can still get support on those devices?

When your hardware is no longer supported by the manufacturer, check with Reliant before deciding to retire it. Usually there is a lot of life left in that EoSL product. We can support your array for as long as you need - including support for a DR solution.

First, let’s define some terms because there can be confusion around what all the end of life terms mean.

End-of-Life (EOL) - This term generally applies to hardware and usually means that the OEM will no longer manufacture or sell this product.

End-of-Service-Life (EoSL) - This term generally applies to support and usually means the OEM will no longer provide support for a product.

1. The manufacturer has told me a product is going EoSL? What now?

Every year OEMs abandon support for older devices in a marketing ploy to get you to upgrade to the latest and greatest, even when you don’t need it. Customers hit the panic button when they see the words “EoSL” and buy new gear thinking they can no longer find support on their current hardware. Simply not true.

2. Can I get support on my EOSL hardware?

Yes, you can. Don’t let the OEM set a deadline for devices for which you can still find support. Reliant Technology is your most qualified option for post-EoSL hardware. Moreover, we support most brands - Cisco, Brocade, EMC, NetApp and much more. Click here to learn more.

3. How many support contracts will I have to manage?

One.

Our customers frequently tell us that putting their new and legacy hardware on one contract makes managing their support contracts a breeze. Reliant supports new and used networking equipment from multiple manufacturers.

4. Can EoL hardware still be supported?

EoL hardware is still available for purchase from resellers, and as a result, is still able to be supported by third-party maintenance and support providers.
